What is bodymind awareness exploration?
Awareness is the experience of noticing what is observable within yourself and around you. Observing what is conscious, subconscious, and unconscious. It opens up the possibility of discovering that there are different ways for you to perceive and engage with reality.
Bodymind awareness exploration is the process of exploring the different ways your bodymind and your 8+ senses enable you to be aware of, to make sense of your lived experience, and to shape your life. We explore how you can hone your bodymind awareness to do the things you love to do, with more joy and presence!
Nurturing your bodymind awareness is a non-linear growth journey. It empowers you to experience meaningful changes in your perception of self and the world. So that you can more consciously choose how you actually would like to offer your time and energy to doing life.
The exploration process differs from person to person. Sessions are tailored to your unique background, current needs, and envisioned future abilities.
I work with you so you can experience renewed perspectives and skills to check in with your self on good days and not-so-good-days (yknow, when you wake up and feel like shit and it seems like you gotta power through regardless?). You'll feel more resilient and able to honour where your energy state is in the present, and make better decisions on the restorative, centering, or activating processes to arrive at what you desire to do (or not do).
What can I expect in a session?
After an initial check-in on how you're doing and current curiosities, we craft your session plan based on the activity, psychophysical coordination, or energetic state you'd like to work on. I guide you to get acquainted with your body and mind at a pace that feels good to you.
Sessions usually consist of:

Unravelling how you do a particular task, and building new and regenerative habits

Expanding your observational skills so that you can grow your sensory awareness

Cultivating curiosity and compassion for your body and mind, through touch-based activities, sound- and movement making

Developing your balance, coordination, stamina and flow through sensory and movement games

Breathing and bodymapping exercises to enliven your sense of presence-in-space

Experiential reflection to integrate your discoveries and craft your unique awareness- and wellness practice that bring you towards your goals
You'll apply your discoveries from these activities to your desired task. Most of my work with you will be informed by principles of Alexander Technique, physical training, trauma-sensitive facilitation, and the psychosocial aspects of somatic attachment therapy. We end with a review and I provide a recommended practice plan!
Know Your Voice offers bodymind awareness exploration sessions in-person in Bukit Panjang (Jingyun's home studio), online, and limited home visit options as well.
